New website, video and photos

For the first time I was able to make a "learning" video - you will find it in the Learning Centre. The video shows and explains how you can make a multi coloured design in ProWeave and then replace each colour with a different weave structure. It was fun making it and I hope that it will also be fun to watch it. I have been using this technique for many years and have made some really interesting structures as a result.

Also on this website is another series of photos in the Gallery - these are False Double Weave or Deflected Double weave. The first group are close ups of the research I did and the last few of of projects I wove - mostly table runners and some calendar inserts. One of the patterns of the table runner is actually a 4 shaft overshot pattern translated into False Double Weave. It is woven on 8 shafts.

Another new gallery is Shadow weave. It is an easy structure to weave, no need to worry about floats that are too long since it is all based on plain weave. I had fun changing the designs slightly to see the faces of the masks changing.

Love the videos!

I've finally decided to purchase ProWeave, now that the Aussie dollar makes it affordable. I love your new site and the videos were definitely the icing on the cake. I had tried the old demo version but found it a bit hard, so I'm hoping the latest version will be easier. Certainly the videos will help. And I've a bit more weaving experience now, and have just purchased my first floor loom, a pre-loved 8 shaft Glimakra "Ideal" configured as a counter marche.

I'm so glad you like the videos - they are a big help so I'm told. For me the difficulty is to move slowly with them and to be clear - I tend to want to show far more than is good for any of us. And of course, if you get stuck - a simple email will do and I'll respond.
